Farmer Rock I agree. I've made several purchases that required a good bit of travel time, I agree to be there by a certain time, they agree to hold it till that time, I've always showed up or called if there was a traffic delay and expected the item to be there when I arrived, there's only been one time that the item was sold before I got there and they had sold it the night before, one hour after our agreement was made for me to drive 3 hours to his place the next day after he got off work.
Normally if someone tells me first there with cash I think them for their time and offer my number should it not sell.
Only twice have I made the trip only to turn the item down, both times the item wasn't even close to be in the condition they said it was, one trip was 500 miles and a overnight stay, wasn't to happy about that one.
To me a person is only as good as their word, if we agree on a deal and time to be there and they then take first cash that shows up, their not much of a person in my book. If I'm selling a item and we agree on time and date for you to be there, it'll be there when you show up. Now if your going to be late you had better call.
