I just saw it - I've been away from my 'puter all day. Thanks! But I think I'll use an external ammeter because the one I just installed on the dash is +/- 30 Amps, so the precision isn't very good. I've got a newish DVM which can probably do it, and as a fall back I have an old Sears Engine Tester (ca mid 70s) that can do it in analog fashion. I did use your wiring diagrams in sorting out the installation of the new harness (and trying to decode what the old arrangement was doing). Worked fine! The only thing I did differently was put the ignition into the left of the resistor and the coil into the right (which requires less criss-crossing and is what it had before). Resistors don't care much about direction! :)
