Got up Friday, headed to work. Stopped at grocery store in town for water and ice. Cashier asked where we were working. Told her up near Birmingham, and she said she thought it was raining there. 50 miles north west. Well. ..... We hardly ever turn on the news in the morning so we hadn't checked the weather. Quick look at radar on the phone and sure enough, day off!!! We were only 5 miles from home, glad the cashier said something! Got home dropped box trailer, hooked up flat bed, loaded boys and dog and headed to MS. I had a tractor on lay-a-way at Tracy Brown's. Ran into a couple heavy downpours on the way up, but good weather to load up. We run the interstate up there and smaller roads home. Takes a bit longer but we ain't in a hurry. Started raining off and on , mostly on, on our trip home. Got so bad at one point we were going about 30 mph for about an hour. Finally got back in cell service and checked radar. We were driving at the same speed and direction as a thin line of storms. We pulled off and parked under the canopy of a urgent care center. Didn't take long and the storm ran on past. Got a few miles down the road and there had been a wreck. Pick-up and a motorcycle. No idea why the motorcycle was trying to drive in that rain. Sat there for over an hour. Truck driver who walked up to the wreck said both folks were alive and left in ambulances. Oh. The new tractor!! Wide front Ford 950. Runs great! Painted like a 4000. Also got a set of sway bars for my 951. Fenders for my dad's Farmall M and a new seat for my wife's Ford 640. Always a great day at Tracy Brown's place. If y'all ever get a chance stop and visit.

Check out the foot rests! Used to have power steering. Now it has a chunk of wood! Looks like it started out as something else. SOS hole in dash. Great tractor. I'm gonna like this one!
