My 48 Cubs operator's manual tells me to use 30W non-detergent oil in the hydraulics. That manual was printed way before the invention of modern hydraulic fluids like IH Hytran. If you want to spend the $$$ for the expensive stuff that hadn't even been designed at the time the Cub was built, go for it. I my opinion, what was fine for it in 1948 should be good enough today.
