CaseIH brand Hytran is the recommended hydraulic fluid. Any non IH branded oil must meet the Hytran or IH specification. Definitely not the word of the floor person saying "this is the stuff you need right here" That is a bad idea. Universal tractor fluid can meet the specification, but only if it is labeled as such. This is important in that the specification is a high standard for corrosion resistance, anti foaming, detergent action, water suspension, and EP (extreme Pressure) gear lubrication. Jim
