Town near here had a fugue tractor pull a couple years. But, things got a little too amped up, it got to be not fun for the organizers.
Then they put on lawn mower pulls.
That was fun for three years. Neighborhood gathering. But then the ‘pros’ came in, with the tuned snowmobile engines transplanted into the lawn mower, and well you coulda pulled a 4 bottom plow with some of those ‘lawn mowers’ and so the neighborhood folk stopped tinkering with the old simplicity in the back of the shop, was way too much money to keep up and not fun, just work. So then less local folk bothered to show up, because there were less locals competing.
