YEARS ago we made a blown up 470 into a 504 by swapping in a new factory 504 shortblock, and I know the bores are the same, and the heads interchange, so the gaskets have to be interchangeable, IMHO

Is your cam in good shape, injector lobe pitting/failure was common.
