As an aside, I used to always have a argument with my brother in law, an Airforce trained meteorologist and later NOA weather forecaster, as to weather metal could get colder than the ambient temperature. I always maintained that chill factor has no effect on objects that don't generate heat. Chill factor has to do with rate of heat loss and a piece of iron can only get as cold as the ambient (outside)temp. Then again what do I know about it?
