I sold our 110 year old dairy barn to a fellow who transported the boards and hand hewn timbers to California where they were used in the construction of "bars, restaurants and movie stars homes". My understanding was that all of this lumber had to be Kiln dried to kill any insect infestation prior to being sold in California. He used railroad transport, tractor trailer transport and also had a goose neck trailer that he and his wife drove to California. Evidently, there was demand at that time (2008) for such material. Costly, but to the clientele, does that matter?
