There's another approved fluid in Canada called premium udt, its a synthetic, works better in the cold. I'll be honest I haven't followed the ridiculous 50 hour engine oil change interval or the 500 hour or whatever fluid change schedule on our 50 hp hydrostatic Kubota because it was getting 500 hours a year and took like 1800$ of filter/fluids following the schedule that first year. Engine oil/filter we do every 200-250 hours now. Hydro oil we have changed it every 1500 hours and saved the old fluid for use in our older tractors. Kubota hydrostatic filters every 500 hours. Kubota engine filter actually really cheap when you get the "tall" optional filter. I suspect the short intervals based on homeowner use as the bigger kubotas have normal ag type schedules.
