Going in tomorrow to have my eleven year old hip replacement redone. The other one needs it too but this one is a little worse. I have metal on metal joints, chrome ball and cobalt liner, and they are worn out. The blood ion level for cobalt is 12 and should be less that 1. The titanium parts in the pelvis and femur could also be loose. Three years of pain, getting progressively worse. Best case is just replace the ball and liner but it's probably more that that.
