leroy, a kind of funny bucket truck story for you. about ten years ago i was trimming limbs along my neighbors field, they were in the way and would hit the combine. i told him id take care of it. we are good neighbors. was end of november, frost in the ground no snow yet. i was up in the bucket dropping limbs with the chain saw. had the truck shut odd and just running on batteries, which i did not know were kind of low. well, fully extended up the batteries died and the boom stopped. there i sat. left my cell phone in the pickup, and i always carry a rope i case i need to slide down. that was in the truck. though for quite a while and then figgered i could jump to the oak tree about 6 feet away, then climb down the tree. got to looking, not enough branches to climb down. good thing i checked. ended up taking my boots , coveralls and coat off, tossing them overboard and shinnied down the mast. learned to keep my phone and rope with me in the bucket!!
