I'm often amazed about what I have learned about tractors and don't remember it when I need it. Last week my Cub wouldn't start so I towed it up to the house and found I had no spark. Turns out the points needed cleaning. So I put the plate back on with the rotor and remember saying to my self this can only go on one way so no problem. Try to start the tractor - nothing. Flooded it real bad trying as its 12 volts and doesn't take much to flood it. I had spark so maybe something wrong with the carb or maybe I put the wiring on wrong. Started on the wiring. I have everything ready to fire #1 cylinder and when I look at the rotor I'm thinking why is that like it is - its ready to fire #3. After a few more confused minutes it dawned me you can put the plate with the rotor back on wrong. I learned that the hard way at least once before. The saddest part of this story is its likely to happen again. LOL Tractor runs real well now. Only took me a week to figure it out on something I already knew.
