Usually my first line of attack is go for the dirty rag box.
If I don't have dirty rags, then the oil absorb.
If the finish is good and I want to really get rid of the mess, then follow up with scrubbing the floor with Safety Clean or diesel.
One time many years ago I scored a bunch of damaged bags of kitty litter to use for oil absorb. It worked well on oil, but I found out if there were any water or anti freeze involved, it would melt the kitty litter, turning it into brown slime that was like walking on ice!
Not sure if it was just that brand, but I sure had to be careful using it around water!
