The biggest problem was they put 60 horse on an M rearend with the ball bearings. The update from what I understood was they put roller bearings in place of the ball bearings. Once that was done then they were fine. You just don't always know if it has been done to the one you buy for sure. Now days they would be fine since they are mostly now a putter tractor running augers or light work not many plowing hundreds of acres like in the early 60's late 50's.
