For questions about your Ford click on the link below to get to the Ford board. That said, Ford followed their own ideas when it came to their models. Your 3400 is almost identical to a 3000. It has the same chassis but has a much heavier front axle. However, your power steering box is identical to the 3000 steering box and the repair on that seal is the same. Getting back to an all purpose vs a utility vs an industrial: A utility had more transmission options than an AP. An Industrial had more transmission options yet. And they had a stupendously heavy front axle - much heavier than your 3400. Also, a Utility is a soft nose model. Ie, it used a tin radiator cowel just like a 3000. The Industrial version of the 3000 is called a 3500. It was a hard nose model. Radiator cowel was nearly 1/4" thick. And it steered much differently than yours. Click the link for the Ford Board.
