Years ago I was doing some work on a machine in the field and a self-propelled forage harvester was setting nearby. This chopper had a heavy roller windguard above the pickup header and was parked with the roller in the raised position. The machine was shut off and nobody was around it. Suddenly there was a crashing sound and I looked up to see the roller down on the pickup and oil sprayed everywhere. A hose had blown allowing the roller to drop. Had someone been working under it things would have been ugly. Made me a firm believer in the fact that "stuff happens" when you would least expect it. Best to park your loader on the ground or to rig up a safety stop like others suggested.
