Wife is a dental hygienist, I'm an attorney. Both age 71. Both require state licenses. She subs for local dentists whose hygienists are out for whatever reason, I do evictions for a property management company. Evictions are barred by law at present, and dentists aren't working due to the virus.
She mentioned this morning that they are talking about dentists starting up again, and she's pretty sure some of the young hygienists are going to be scared of coming back. She is not sure she wants to, either, since she's in the most vulnerable group due to age. I'm getting old and tired, too, so I suggested we both let our licenses go at the end of the year, and just be done with it, as we've both worked more than 50 years. So we're both now OFFICIALLY RETIRED! Pretty good feeling. We celebrated a little, and although it wasn't as good a celebration as it might have been 20 years ago, it was fine for us. We'll just look forward to the 50th anniversary wing-ding our great kids will surely cook up for us next February. And by the way, our 10th grandkid was born on Sunday.
