I used a single wire, internal regulator type Delco alternator from a wrecker when I converted the Cockshutt 50 years ago. Can't recall the model but think its a 37 amp. Its worked perfect for years. I think we used the original pulley off the old generator so I could still run the wide fan belt. I had to wire in a toggle switch on the dash to get it to start charging on initial start up. Just quick flip on and off and it will charge as long as the engine runs.
