I grew up raking with one of those! The only Allis Chalmers equipment I ever saw back then. It was '48 model that Dad and my Uncle bought new when they mechanized to tractor power. I always wonder why they did not buy Ford or IH rake, because that's what all of the rest the equipment was. Dad modified the dual wheel set up-he left the 2 on the rear, but put one of the fronts on the left side, bolted to the frame and the wheel was just ahead of the windrow as it was being made. It had the ball hitch on it which had special lock ring that held the ball up into the socket. I remember dad replacing the lock ring a time or 2. Finally the ball receiver wore out and made it a regular tongue hitch. We always pulled it with the 8n Ford, and baled all our hay with IH/McCormick 50t baler with the Continental engine.
