Since it appears that my wife has the virus, although they won't test to be sure, I can't go to work. So it's project time. Started with a couple projects that have been on the list a while by fixing my friend Jeff's trailer. The axles got bent so I replaced it with a new one.
Just torched off the u-bolts and used new.
The worst part of a job like this, greasing the bearings. You can get these axles now with sealed bearings, I highly recommend it. Sure wish someone would invent a good and clean way to do this job. I haven't found a way better than this yet.
All done with that job. Wasn't too bad, took a couple hours.
Next was to tackle the leaking loader cylinders on the dc.
First plan was to trade out those cylinders for another pair I have, but it turned out they are different. So then I took this one apart to see if I could get new seals. Turns out that end seal that leaked is adjustable by just tightening those 4 bolts. I had done that, but dirt and grime had filled the space and it couldn't tighten anymore. Once that was cleaned out it tightened right up and sealed up again. Can't believe I've poured as many gallons of oil in there and spread them about the yard because I didn't know how it worked. Oh well, it's fixed now and I know how to fix it if it leaks again. Lol. That and a good nap took care of the first day of at least 10 before I can go back to work. Don't know what I'll do today, going to be a bit colder.
