For what it's worth...
I am a diesel mechanic by trade, we do anything from small three cylinder engines up to 16, 20 and 24 cylinder units from practically all manufacturers. Cummins, Cat, Detroit two and four strokes, MTU, Mercedes, EMD and others. Most engine failures I see are NOT caused by lube oil related failures, but rather cooling system problems. A big part of cooling system failure is old, improper, or ill maintained coolant, no or weak SCA additives, etc. A wet sleeve diesel can and will perforate the liners in as little as 1000 hours with no SCA in the system, seen it several times from different manufacturers.
Please guys, keep that coolant maintained and changed regularly. As far as SCA additives, keep those coolant filters changed, a "pre-charged" coolant filter replenishes the SCA which are "used up" over time. Also don't guess, test with proper test strips for your coolant type and either add liquid SCA or change the coolant filter with one that has more or less additive as necessary, keeping in mind too much SCA will cause water pump seal leaks.
I also know a lot of people hate the 50/50 premixed coolant because they think they are buying half water...good premixed coolant from Fleetguard, Deere and others cost more for the maker to treat the water in it than the concentrated coolant cost them. I firmly believe by the time you buy the concentrate, SCA, and distilled water and mix it the 50/50 is cheap by comparison.
Just some ramblings from a guy that's seen it, take it for what it's worth.

Today's Featured Article - The Nuts and Bolts of Fasteners - Part 2 - by Curtis Von Fange. In our previous article we discussed capscrews, bolts, and nuts along with their relative hardness and thread sizes. In this segment we will finish up on our fasteners and then work with ways to keep them from loosening up in the field. Capscrews, bolts and nuts are not the only means of holding two parts together. When dealing with thinner metals like sheet tin, a long bolt and
