So had a chance to pull the cover off. Took this pic. Apparently what I thought was a clutch pedal, is actually linked into a valve on the manifold. See picture:
And I have no idea why this file upload is rotating my image. I put some brake fluid in, will need to open the ends and purge the air. I'll take my vac next trip up. Anyhoo, making progress. I did fire it up and try to move it. It moved at first, but then I pushed in the pedal on the left. After that, was hard to get it to go again, even with revving it up. Guessing torque converter needing fluid. Any chance there's an accessible reservoir for that?
