Did you check with the machinist, a good one would have had official figures at hand as to the wear limits making a flywheel unsuitable for re-use and would have logged the original measurement and how much metal he removed.
In the lower photo it looks like at least two ring gear teeth are mangled and possibly the ring gear has been shoved forwards by the bolt.
