I picked up a decent gravity box with no gear at a sale for chump change and sealed all the seams with silicone then painted over that found a good ten ton gear at another sale and a hyd auger , best 450 bucks i ever spent . Now just pull the wagon over to the fertilizer plant load and go . When done wash out the wagon and put it away. after watching this i needed to go take a nap .”
I don’t quite know what to say. We’re trying to do the best we can with what we have and make it pencil out too. Don’t know where you live, but in my neck of the woods, it’s a haul to the nearest coop and there are steep mountains between us and anywhere. Just to get fertilizer delivered, we have to share a partial load with someone else down the road. Best case is to have a spreader truck come in and do the job, but that’s expensive and we are at the mercy of the coop and their timing isn’t always in our favor. As to fertilizer buggies, we really don’t have a truck to pull one and given our hills, the pucker factor would be off the charts with a loaded buggy behind our tractor on these hills. So we use bags - for now...
