Thanks Jim for the information, and everybody for that matter. I messed around with it some more today and did get my rear lift to operate. After that, I bled the lines going from the steering box down the ps cylinder, and even purged the air from the cylinder itself. So now with the tractor running, when I turn the steering wheel I get just a little wiggle from the cylinder to the linkage. When I loosen the hydro fittings at the cylinder and turn the wheel I get some fluid leakage, but nothing forceful as if under pressure. I'm going include a pic if possible (meaning if I can figure out how to do it). I don't see any separate fill port for the power steering pump. My 245 did have one as you suggested. I don't suppose you fill the filter canister with lid off do you? Guess I better get a manual.
