Find out what the warranty is and Who it is that honors the warranty! You really need that in writing!
We at the shop where I work about two years ago, we were working on a Toro for one of the manager's 'buddies' and the 'buddy' decided he needed to get his pump and wheel motor off the internet because they were much cheaper there. The other mechanic in the shop put them in for him. The parts were a Hydrogear pump and a (no-name?) wheel motor both bought from sources on the internet.
You guessed it! The combination ran for about a month and then the no-name wheel motor had a major failure. It also scattered debris through the hydrogear pump. Our Hydrogear distribuitor refused to do any warranty on the pump because they did not provide it for us and it sounded doubtful that the online sources that provided the pump and wheel motor helped out from their end either. After about another month, the customer payed for us to again install another wheel motor and pump provided by our distribuitor. This was an expensive lesson in how not to save money.
