gajac, "problems with certain odors (mine are menthol cig smoke)"
You probably don't remember, but a month or so back, I posted about getting vaping fluid on my hands at work. The smell got embedded in my sinuses, I could smell that nasty stuff for days!
Seemed like it was on my hands, in my beard, no amount of washing would get rid of it! May have been in my mind, but seemed very real.
I finally overcame it with...
Dryer sheets!
Quite by accident, I was getting dressed one morning, one fell out of my shirt. I picked it up, noticed it had a bit of smell left in it, and noticed that for the first time in days I smelled something other than vaping fluid!
I folded it up, stuck it in my shirt pocket. All through the day I could get a faint smell from it. When I was having a flashback to vaping fluid, I would take the sheet out and hold it to my nose.
Within a few days the bad smell was gone, I no longer needed the dryer sheet.
I've had similar effects from other bad smells. A bad running gas engine, a torpedo heater, certain paint fumes, and cigarettes have had the same effect.
If that's what you experienced from the cigarettes, try the dryer sheet. It worked for me anyway...

The first fleet arrived in 1788 and consisted mainly of convicts who were poorly equipped and new little of farming techniques. The colony remained far from self-supporting and it was not until the early 1800's that things started to improve. Free settlers started to arrive, they followed the explorers across the mountains and where land was suitable set up farms. T
