Glad you enjoyed the experience, Larry. Not surprising that they invited you to join in- most people would welcome crazed Iranian terrorists at chicken butchering time, if they'd behave themselves and help.
We did a chicken butchering when I was about 25- I ordered 25 Black Australorp pullets from Murray McMurray hatchery, and they sent cockerels instead. So when they were 5 or 6 lbs., my folks came out to the farm, and we "did them up." Dad and I killing, scalding and plucking, and wife and my mom eviscerating. Fine time had by all.
