Global economy is just a thinly disguised excuse for sending manufacturing jobs to low wage non-regulated counties. Can't you see that?
We send manufacturing jobs to China, Viet Nam, Korea, and India partly because their wages are lower and partly because they are not as heavily regulated by OSHA and EPA.
As for competition, I say that competition is one thing. Unfair competition is something much different. Some of the so-called competition is nothing short of dumping. When the Japanese cars first started becoming a major factor in our markets here, the Japanese carmakers were heavily subsidized by their government and were selling their cars for less than it cost to make them. That is called dumping.
