Older trucks did not have spring/maxi brakes. You only had brakes if you had air,(maybe a transmission parking brake). I drove a B-model that didn't have maxibrakes, one day parked it on a slight incline, mechanic in shop heard the brakes release when the air leaked down and was able to jump in and stop it with the parking brake before it hit the shop. I may not have been the one that parked it. That was a long time ago.
