Hi all, I picked up a Fergy on Saturday evening and some other implements, and the guy has a Bristol crawler tractor with a Perkins diesel. Now he has a bad problem... At first it would start great and run well, but then when he would throttle up, the engine would take off and "rev out". A helpful person screwed a bung into a hole in the manifold, and now it doesn't do that any more, it simply smokes terribly! Someone said that the 'diaphragm' needs work, but I think it is either clogged air filter or broken governor. Also can someone please identify what model it is? Is it the 153 Perkins?
