I have a system for projects, little ones, Lowe s, since it is closer than Home Depot. Under 100 or so, Home Depot. Over that, it s Menards. I can usually get things delivered from Menards cheaper than dragging things home from Lowe s or Home Depot. Of course, this is dependent on the money involved. I also have been impressed by the quality of the lumber. Home Depot puts out a skid of lumber, and it gets picked thru. They never cull anything. Menards does a higher volume, I don t know that they are getting higher quality lumber, but it isn t picked over, much if at all. I ve been surprised at how much cheaper Menards is than other places. Menards is the furthest away, but quite a bit cheaper.
