It's probably not good that I have so many of these stories, but....
I had a guy whose business failed. Owed me a couple thousand and a bankruptcy was pending. Day before they took inventory of his assets he asked me if I would like one of the legal file cabinets he had in his office. I said sure and he told me he would drop it on my driveway...no need for me to come out and talk. I figured it was better than getting nothing.
I found that file cabinet on my driveway. When I opened the top drawer there was an envelope taped inside full of cash. Every penny he owed me...plus a file cabinet. :)
I still do his personal taxes. His word is as good as gold here.
