The HST is the weak Link if you try to do anything with mower except mow.
A guy ruined his 25 hp hushy varnie in about 300 hrs pulling a trailer behind his.
My old JD garden tractor has an HST filter and a place to add and change HST oil.
I look for cast iron front axle and electric clutch for mower.
I have changing the 2 belt tranny type mowers. I usually have to grow new skin if I don't wear gloves. Sometimes invent new words too. The upside is you can repair the tranny better than you can a craftsman HST. Some cheap JD Have a single belt going to an actual gearbox in transaxle. They jurk when starting, but last longer.
I have all the mowers I talked about above. I love my 20 year old JD garden tractor the best for ride and durability. It also has tractor bar tires and a 30 inch tiller 48 inch mower. George

So I went into the house and wrote him a check for $500 and bought them myself and said now they are mine. He had bought them about five years before thinking that he was going to restore them himself. After five years sitting in the barn, he changed h
