How about an electric riding mower. You said it's for residential and the electric units will go a couple hours per charge. Have him check out a Ryobi RM480E or a Craftsman or a CC (everybody's jumping on the moving the air pollution to somebody else's back yard.)
BTW: Is the Raven hybrid still manufactured? I liked the idea of a mower/atv/portable generator.
