I have two John Deere riders, a 21 year old GT262 and an X320 which was my fathers. I do like the X320 hydrostatic drive for mowing . Craftsman is mentioned below and many of the larger Craftsman were well built machines but Sears appears to be on the way out so I don�t know that I would buy a new Craftsman as you might be on your own for warranty work. I would compare buying from a local dealer to the large retail store price, my neighbor bought a new Cub Cadet from the local dealer and they matched the price that TSC and Lowe�s or Home Depot had, plus free delivery. I would go with JD because we have a local dealer and I tend to keep things a long time so parts available is important.
