In the 70's we had a few years of severe snow, it was bad enough that roads were closed because the local, county and state trucks couldn't keep up with the snow fall. Some 4x4 trucks got in the habit of cutting through fields where the snow had blown off to get around road closures. One morning I could here a truck in the neighbors field trying to spin out of a snow drift. I thought it mite be the neighbor so I fired the Oliver 88, grabbed a chain, a shovel and started out into the field. I found a guy in a Chevy 4x4 that was high centered on the snow and couldn't get out. When I backed up to him I ended up high centering the tractor, so I dug it out. After I pulled him to the road and unhooked the chain he put his truck in gear and drove off. Never did figure out who he was.
