I put a set of seals in the transfer case from my 2006 Chevy Suburban - and I can't remember what the story is on these collars sticking out on two of the bolt holes that hold the two halves of the transfer case together. There is one on each opposing end of the transfer case.
Did I mess around and let them slide out slightly while it was apart? Or do they take a special bolt or set of washers?? The other 10-12 bolts just snug up like normal.
From most of the info I can find on the internet, it seems like most/many of these transfer cases just have regular bolts at these locations, so I am puzzled as to why this one has that collar protruding out.
