While I agree with that, I think those shows were doomed anyway. Here's why: a lack of gore, no gratuitous violence, no shoot-out scenes; heck hardly ever a body count at the end of the episode, let alone at the beginning! Thirty years of ever increasing acts of perversion on our TVs as each program tries to out shock audiences, and we wonder why all the violence in our society. Of course we got lots of studies telling us there's no correlation between what we see on TV and what goes on in the real world. Yet we have all those manufactures with huge advertising budgets poring all that money into getting their jingle or product in the minds of the consumers. I guess they're just wasting it. Yeah right! There's a reason they call it PROGRAMMING! Just saying.
