Let me start somewhere. Rust is from water and oxygen. Now did you use gasoline with ethanol in it. Did you use carburetor soak, did you neutralize the soak. Several things can contribute. First thing I would try is this first video on how to remove the ethanol. You want to use hi-test so you should loose very little octain rating. Don't forget to add a couple of drops of food dye. Let's you see the water level. The next video is the test guy in his garage. He has a lot of crazy tests and is fun to watch. A lot of his video I agree with. Give him a watch Almost forgot. You can buy ethanol free gas at a boat yard.
