Make sure the filter will handle twice the flow capacity of the pump because there is more flow going back to the tank as the lower is lowered. Rule of thumb also is used a filter rated at 30 micron for filter size for gear & vane pumps, 10 micron for piston pumps and if you go with a strainer 100 mesh is a good size. More questions?
