The Chryler minivan trans have been a problem since they brought out the minivan. Another problem that I've seen that is not discussed here is driving on snow/ice. When the wheels are spinning and the tires hit a dry spot the sudden jerk often causes the housing to crack. We see this problem quite often during the winter months. One local repair shop will rebuild and weld the housing for about the cost that I can get a factory rebuild so I choose the factory rebuild for my piece of mind. Another problem that causes these trans to go is that people pull trailers and leave the trans in overdrive. These trans were not design to be used this way. krum
