Battery maintenance 101. I have posted the voltage readings you get on top of a battery. Moisture will make a connection from the positive post to ground, and will discharge the battery. The higher the voltage, the more discharge. Next time you need to clean the top, wet it with water and use baking soda, or any soda of your choice. Wait awhile and rinse off!
