Got to looking around for that Gamma Goat.
Remembered the VTR (M88) engine we had in Germany.
All the docs I find say it had the Continental V12 Deisel 750hp 2 Turbos like the M60 tank, but ours had the Cont. V12 with a dual Supercharged Gas engine. 1500 HP and BLUE FLAMES out the twin spark arresters(they weren't mufflers).The thing I remembered the most was the sound in the motor pool shop when we fired that thing up to jump start the tanks. Metal building and 1500hp!!! What a puller that would make.
