I was keep an eye on the dewalt compressor. Considering replacing my old 1.5 hp twin stage compressor when I get the pole barn done. I think my old compressor may be older than I am.
It has a rare motor, no start capacitors. It's called a repulsion start, induction run. I acts like a DC motor, repulsion motor, during start. It has brushes that mechanically lift off communicator after it gets up to speed converting motor into an induction motor. I've only seen one other motor like this. That motor was so old the insulation was falling off wires. geo
