I agree with cole that if it was only the nut that is a head scratcher. If the whole pulley was hot I would also say it is the belt slipping. Probably had to crank it a bit to get the injection system bled. Then when it started the alternator was putting out some decent amps to recharge the batteries thus pulling hard and possibly slipping. Were the belts tight? How do the pulley grooves look? Are the bottoms of the V grooves shiny? This could mean the grooves are worn to much and the belts can’t grip the sides of the V. Then pulley should be replaced. If this is the case the belts were likely slipping for sure.
