The amount of compression required to run has alot to do with the size of the engine. I have small engines with 20psi compression that run perfect. Also know diesel engines with something like 200 or more psi to run. I would say for your engine at least 40psi to run probably around 65psi to be good. My Farmall M puts out 75psi and it is in tip top shape. Steven
