350 IH battery discharging

Hi out There. I have a 350 utility IH tractor. It was originally 12 volt with a generator. The generator went bad so I put a new one-wire alternator set up in. Now it charges fine when running, but if you shut it off, the battery discharges. If you disconnect the battery cable after shutdown it will start fine the next time its used. It must be drawing current from somewhere. Where is a good place to start looking? Any help appreciated.
