the older radios of that era were 6 volt tube type and strictly a. m. they were noisy onthe cars because of generator noise so you needed a condenser you mite better put in the newer am ,fm of today that are 12 volt and notnoitsyssomes of the early 12 volt radio that had sstrictly am you could get a fm converter and that made for a lot better reception
